No accountNo sign-up or sign-in. We never ask for your name, email or phone number.
Nothing sent to a serverThere is no Runpop server, and the app has no feature that sends your data over the internet.
No ads or analyticsNo advertising, analytics, tracking or crash-reporting SDKs. We do not track you.
1The basics
Everything the app handles is processed and stored only on your iPhone and Apple Watch. We, the developer, cannot receive or see any of it. The app does not use iCloud sync (it has no iCloud entitlement at all), and your data does not leave your devices.
2Information the app handles
Steps, distance and live cadence
- Source
- iPhone motion sensors (Motion & Fitness permission)
- Purpose
- Measures your real cadence during a run to compare with the target, and to work out stride and pace.
- Stored
- As part of the run record, inside the app on your iPhone.
Heart rate and active energy
- Source
- Read from Apple Health (HealthKit). During a run, live heart rate also comes from the Apple Watch workout session.
- Purpose
- Heart rate graph, average, maximum, intensity zones and calories in run details, and the current heart rate on your phone during a run.
- Stored
- Only a summary for the run's time window (10-second averages, average and maximum, total calories), saved with that run inside the app on your iPhone.
Date of birth
- Source
- Read from Apple Health (HealthKit)
- Purpose
- Estimates your maximum heart rate to set heart rate zones. A default is used if it can't be read.
- Stored
- Never stored. It is read when you open run details and used only for that calculation.
Run records
- Contents
- Start time, duration and active segments, plan name, target and measured cadence timeline, steps, distance, time on target. Runs shorter than one minute are not kept.
- Purpose
- The 기록 (History) tab and run details.
- Stored
- A local database (SwiftData) inside the app on your iPhone.
Settings and widget summary
- Contents
- Plan values, click sound, watch haptic style. A widget summary (current mode, and for up to 50 recent runs: start time, duration, average cadence, time on target, plan name).
- Purpose
- Keeping your setup between launches; showing Home Screen and watch widgets.
- Stored
- Inside the app on each device, and in an App Group container shared only by the app and its widgets on the same device.
3Apple Health (HealthKit)
Data read
- iPhone: heart rate, active energy, date of birth
- Apple Watch: heart rate, active energy (during the running workout session)
Data written
- Apple Watch: a run of one minute or longer with the watch is saved to Health as an Outdoor Run workout.
- iPhone: writes nothing to Health.
Limits on health data. Information obtained from HealthKit is used only to provide the app features described above. It is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold or shared with data brokers or any third party, and never stored in iCloud. It is not used for any other purpose without your consent.
You can change access at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Health › Runpop. The metronome keeps working without it; only heart rate and calories will be empty.
4Motion & Fitness
The app uses the iPhone's step counting to get steps and distance and work out your live cadence. It measures only while you run. To turn it off, go to Settings › Privacy & Security › Motion & Fitness and switch off Runpop. The app does not request location access and does not use GPS.
5Between iPhone and Apple Watch
Using Apple's device-to-device link (WatchConnectivity), the app exchanges run state (running, paused, target cadence), the ±5 and finish buttons pressed on your wrist, and your current heart rate during a run. This travels only between your own iPhone and Apple Watch and never reaches us.
6What we don't send or use
- Data sent to a developer server or any outside service: none
- Advertising, analytics, tracking or crash-reporting SDKs: none (the app does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission)
- Account, name, email, phone number: not collected
- Location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos: not requested
7Retention and deletion
Run records stay on your device until you delete them.
- Delete one run: long-press it in the 기록 (History) tab and tap 삭제 (Delete), or tap 기록 삭제 (Delete Run) at the bottom of its details.
- Delete everything: deleting the app removes all of its records and settings.
- Workouts saved to Apple Health are deleted separately in the Health app.
If device backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup) are on, iOS may include the app's data in those backups under Apple's backup policies.
8Children
The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
9Changes
If what the app handles changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
